Abstract photo-art on brushed metal.
32x8"
Limited edition 1 of 10.
An abstract colour and exposure inversion panorama of a gnarled stand of trees standing between two corn fields, printed on brushed metal. The trees themselves show as exposed brushed aluminum, giving them a unique sheen in changing light. Original photo taken north of Toronto, Ontario Canada.
Patrick's journey into photography began as a youngster, when his father introduced him to his own love for the art, having converted a spare bedroom into a hobbyist’s darkroom. In those early pre-digital days, he fondly remembers excitedly watching the final steps – when an image ‘appeared’ before his very eyes in chemical trays under red light before it was hung up to dry to become a tangible photographic print. For him, that was just magic.
Years later, Patrick's passion for photography - and the creative process and technical challenges that it brings - has grown exponentially. He is drawn to exploring landscapes, urbanscapes, travelscapes and wildlife photography. Finding precious opportunities to sling his gear over a shoulder and head out to seek new and intriguing compositions excites him greatly.
A print license request for a full-page travel article photo from AAA Highroads Magazine really motivated Patrick to improve his photography skills. And now, buoyed by unending support from his family, friends, and a growing clientele, Patrick thrives upon capturing, creating and evolving. His work is, simply put, life inspired.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
As an emerging artist, Patrick enjoy exploring multiple genres of photgraphy. He is perpetually inspired to push boundaries in order to evolve as a creative. He likes to think of his journey into photography as a kind of ongoing artistic exploration. By challenging himself to capture and edit images in different ways, in different settings, using different techniques, etc, Patrick feels this propels him to really enjoy this creative artform. He also believes this encourages me to try to 'see' the world around him more completely and perhaps more objectively.
