Story: Golden Sunset brings the warmth of a setting sun into a gathering of white birches. An orange sun stretches across both canvases, surrounded by glowing yellow, red, and deep burgundy. The bare trees stand with their own shapes and gestures, yet share the same sky. The sun crossing the central division joins the two panels in one landscape. To me, this connection speaks of belonging without losing individuality: each tree remains distinct, while all are held by the same light. The birches recall Northern Ontario. That shared light feels quietly enduring.

Process: I approached the canvases as one continuous surface, allowing colour to guide me. I layered the warm sky, then added a narrow blue edge to suggest evening. I shaped the white birches with textured bark and expressive branches, carrying the sun across the join while keeping each tree distinct.
