Plump, colourful hens making their way through the snow.
They’re so full, so festive, so pleased with themselves — like little bursts of colour on a white winter field.

No matter how many times I paint them, there’s always a new reason to return.
Just like in life, it’s enough to simply watch them.
There’s a quiet magnetism in these humble creatures.
I feel it while painting — and I hope you feel it too.
