Photography on paper.
18x20x1"
Limited edition 1 of 10.
At the center of this composition sits a void — a custom-made mirror that opens a small hole in reality, filled not with emptiness but with a distorted reflection of poppies. A wound that blooms. The image was conceived as a study in grief and loss — the hole as metaphor for what is missing, what cannot be recovered. But the poppies, bright and persistent, kept insisting on something else. The result is a tension between the two: loss and beauty, void and bloom, fragility and perseverance. The floral arrangement references the tradition of ikebana — structured, intentional, every stem placed with purpose. The mirror was custom made for this shot. No digital manipulation was used to create the void — what you see is what was there.
