This two panel painting was the first piece I created when we moved to Duluth, MN 4 and a half years ago. I was so inspired by our initial visits to the area that I needed to create our journey which could be anyone's. Finding a place and a home, transplanting ones self to new environments can be intimidating, exhilarating and inspirational. In this piece I address social and economic issues of finding ones place. Nature, industry, education and people all interacting upon each other is an absolutely fascinating subject to paint about.
