In My Dream explores the emotional intensity of sunset, when the landscape begins to dissolve into color and memory. Inspired by countless evenings spent watching the last light reflect across rivers and marshes, this painting pushes the natural colors of twilight beyond observation and into imagination. The glowing sky and mirrored reflections evoke a place that feels both familiar and dreamlike—a landscape that exists somewhere between memory and emotion.

Rich violets, deep blues, luminous golds, and vibrant pinks create a heightened color palette that blurs the distinction between sky, water, and land. Soft, layered applications of oil paint diffuse the edges of the silhouetted tree line, allowing the landscape to shimmer and recede. Light appears to emanate from within the painting, while the reflections create a quiet symmetry that draws the viewer toward the distant horizon.

Sunsets have become an ongoing exploration in my work because they transform the familiar into something extraordinary. As daylight fades, the landscape becomes less about physical description and more about feeling. In In My Dream, I wanted to create a painting that invites viewers to linger in that in-between space where memory, imagination, and nature overlap. Rather than documenting a specific place, it captures the emotional experience of witnessing a landscape at its most fleeting and luminous.
