“Intertwined” began as an exploration of connection—not just between people, but between thoughts, gestures, and even materials. I wanted to create something that carried a sense of wonder and openness, something that didn’t follow a straight line. The aluminum, cut into an unusual, irregular shape, was central to that idea. Its form resists boundaries, suggesting that connection doesn’t always happen neatly—it twists, overlaps, and sometimes surprises us.
Working in mixed media gave me the freedom to layer different textures and ideas. Some areas are deliberate and grounded, others more spontaneous and abstract.
The surface shifts with light and angle, encouraging viewers to move around the piece, to engage with it from more than one perspective—just as we must do with each other.
