Inspired by a found photograph in Kelly Klein's book POOLS, and generously released for use by photographer Sally Gall for me to use as reference for this painting, this is a serene scene indeed. The painting started with a charcoal sketch, and developed slowly, layer upon layer of sheer neutral color.
