The close view of these birches invites us into the forest, among trunks that rise, lean, and cross one another. Their pale bark catches the light, while dark passages between them add depth and mystery. The vivid blue sky and flashes of red and yellow bring unexpected energy to the familiar trees. To me, the painting speaks of strength through connection: each trunk has its own character, yet all belong to the same living landscape.

Process

I painted intuitively, without a preliminary sketch, letting the composition emerge as I worked. I established the blue background first, then built the birch trunks with layered whites, warm tones, and textured marks. Darker passages define the spaces between the trees and make the bark stand forward. I adjusted the trunks and branches until their overlapping forms felt balanced, close, and full of movement clearly.
