The series Ode to Julia Margaret Cameron is based on a nineteenth century photograph “Mountain Nymph, Sweet Liberty” by Julia Margaret Cameron (1866), an early woman photographer. The reflections highlight the layered textures present in the everyday and challenges the viewer to notice them. Ode embraces the artistic pleasure of photographing the work of another photographer. At the same time it creates an alternative rendition and reading of it, such that the original is both embraced and displaced.
