In Series I and II of this work, white sunlight streams through a rectangular window, symbolizing a glorious memory of Rome. The sunlight is depicted as the stone-paved Via Appia, the ancient Roman road.
The elements surrounding and beneath the sunlight evoke the continuous sound of Roman soldiers marching toward Rome, created by the brass, woodwind, percussion, and strings.

Additionally, when both series are exhibited together in one place, the artwork is designed to symbolize a gateway through which Roman soldiers triumphantly enters Rome.
