Pink Sky captures a quiet winter evening transformed by colour. A bright moon rests among rose-coloured clouds, while bands of blue and pink stretch across the sky and shimmer in the water below. Snow-covered evergreens frame the view, giving the scene a sense of stillness and shelter. The painting imagines a familiar northern landscape at an unexpected moment, when moonlight and vivid colour make the night feel almost dreamlike.

I built the scene in layers of acrylic, beginning with broad sweeps of blue across the sky and water. I added pink and violet passages to create movement in the clouds and reflections, then placed the pale moon among them. The dark tree shapes came forward against the brighter colours; touches of white suggest snow catching the light. I let the horizontal strokes carry the eye from sky to water, connecting the two halves of the scene.
