My inspiration came from noticing worn pedestrian pathway signs, each figure similar but uniquely weathered. Although spray-painted with stencils, time and weather had rendered each figure unique. I carve these figures from acrylic panels and use them as irregularly shaped canvases to explore abstract expressions and ideas of diversity, inclusion, and communication.

The carved figure is held by magnets and can be moved to several other locations. There are magnets permanently mounted on the backside of the canvas to make this attachment possible. The figure stands about 3/4 inches off the surface.
