Inspired by the vibrant energy of New York City at night, this piece focuses on the iconic neon lights and architecture of Radio City Music Hall. I was especially drawn to the reflections of the signage across the wet pavement and the contrast between the deep nighttime shadows and saturated reds, blues, and yellows. I built the work through layers of acrylic paint, using fine details, highlights, and reflections to create depth and the feeling of glowing light. The visible canvas texture adds a physical quality to the highly detailed urban scene.
