This is part of the “Southwest” collection, where I depict some scenes in Southwest USA. I’ve always admired the almost other worldly, almost alien beauty of the desert landscapes of Southwestern USA. No southwest collection would be complete without the Red Rocks of Sedona. For this final piece in the collection, I wanted to keep it simple because the focus is on the Sedona rocks in the backdrop with the rest of the landscape interspersed with muted green vegetation. All this juxtaposed against a darkening sky where the red rocks stand out even more. This painting, as well as the other paintings in the collection, are done with a limited palette of toned down earthy tones, colors that match the muted quality of the landscape.
The sides of canvas are painted using the same color palette as the painting. The artwork is signed and dated on the back. It is varnished and will arrive ready to hang.
