My piece 'Red Scales' is an acrylic swipe with a continuous red, orange and blue gradient with fantastic dark brown/ purple contrasting cells throughout the painting in a beautiful pattern through the center. A technique called "swiping" was used to incorporate the dark contrast throughout the piece forming hundreds of beautiful cell patterns. After the cells had developed I tilted the canvas while it was still wet until the design was perfect.
Red Scales is ready to hang vertically and horizontally, depending on your preference. I constructed a frame with .5 inch spacing encompassing the work with a dark walnut stained frame giving a dark classy mood to this bright artwork.
