This piece is from a series of paintings explores the tension between culture and nature. A bowl, a recurring symbol for humanity's transformation of the natural world, is recomposed from decades-old shards of a Venda clay pot. The meticulous 'repair', reconstructing the chips back into the emblem of a bowl, represents a longing for a more harmonious past, when the bond between humans and nature was less strained.
