When we turn on the media today, most of the news is about wars and other negative stories. This collection has 3 paintings, each representing a soldier from a different unit. They all have the same thoughts in their mind: When is the war going to end? When can I go home and see my family? What have I done? I want to use the abstract style to express the chaos of the war and the struggle of the soldier’s mind. At the same time, I want audiences to recognize a human form easily, so I have done some study in anatomy. When you turn off the light or use a black light, some parts of the painting will glow in the dark. The concept behind this is to remind audiences that even in darkness, there will always be light and hope guiding us.
