Submerged Passage VI is constructed from layered print papers of varying sizes, assembled into a single surface using gel medium, acrylic paint, sand, and expressive mark-making. The rough edges, seams, and textures created through this process became an essential part of the work itself, allowing the materials to guide its direction. Rather than beginning with a predetermined image, this piece evolved through accumulation, erosion, and repeated acts of building, obscuring, and revealing. Areas of openness and depth emerged organically, creating a quiet sense of movement between fragments. Part of the Submerged Passage series, this work explores the spaces between what is visible and what remains hidden. Inspired by natural processes of sedimentation, shifting landscapes, and the passage of time, the composition encourages viewers to slow down and discover their own associations within its layered surface.
