Sunflowers are my mother’s and my favorite flowers. During the COVID lockdown, my mother passed away in Japan, but I couldn’t go say a final goodbye to her and attend her funeral due to the travel restrictions. I was very sad and depressed. Our lives were very limited and dark.

I started this series wishing to evoke nice, bright and hopeful scenes and feelings in those difficult times.
