Elena Selitsky is an Edmonton based self-thought artist in love with soft pastel medium. She works mainly in still life genre, occasionally refers to landscape and floral. Artist’s attention is drawn by simple, day-to-day objects everyone can relate to – glass of transparent water, slice of lemon or morning coffee. Revealing beauty of simplicity is one of her artistic goals. Along with that artist's work is distinguished by clear and minimalistic design of shapes and values. She is using her own technique and approach to apply soft pastel which results in fresh and vibrant painting.
Elena is an active member of Pastel Artists Canada. Her works have been accepted into national and international juried shows and are in private collections in Canada and abroad.
