I’ve done a few variations on the Three Muses theme. This variation is an Art Deco–inspired simultaneous profile composition, employing positive and negative space to embed multiple figures within a single image. A stylized frontal face occupies the center, while three additional profiles emerge from the surrounding silhouettes, sharing contours and boundaries. The figures coexist simultaneously rather than alternating, inviting the viewer to perceive all three presences at once.
The limited palette and graphic precision heighten the illusion, allowing negative space to function as an active design element. The result is a visually layered portrait that balances glamour, mystery, and perceptual play.
