Winter does not always leave quietly.

"The Ice Refuses" is about resistance—that moment when the days are beginning to change, the light is warmer, and yet the cold still has a firm grip on the landscape. The ice holds on. It resists melting, shifting and yielding in its own time.

But eventually, something changes.

In "The Ice Starts Talking", the surface begins to loosen. Cracks, movement, dripping water and the subtle sounds of thawing suggest that what appeared solid and silent is beginning to reveal itself. The ice is no longer simply a barrier. It has become a messenger, telling us that change is underway.

Together, the paintings are about that uneasy negotiation between holding on and letting go. Nature moves through these transitions with a kind of stubborn intelligence. Nothing happens all at once. The old season resists. The new one presses forward.

And somewhere between the two, the landscape begins to speak.
