The Platform

“The Platform,” is a juxtaposition of figures waiting for their train. The painting is unified by a subtle pattern of rectangular forms guide the viewer between each figure. Repetition and differences in scale reinforce a feeling of movement from one place to another. Although collaged onto the surface, the paper color used for the graphite drawings gives an allusion of raw canvas, creating a contradictory sense of depth.
