The Threshold of Flight

This piece is inspired by the private, internal transition of emotional recovery and self-reliance. It captures the precise moment where a person possesses the inner strength to heal and find hope, but is still quietly gathering the confidence to move forward. The huddled posture and outstretched wings represent this pause: the final pooling of inner power right before taking flight and pushing the darkness away. I used translucent washes of dark and golden pigment (acrylic paint and water) in the background, to imply that the shadows are receding.
