Through the Foliage

Oil paint on canvas.

34x68x1"

Through the Foliage looks up at a slender tower through a tangle of autumn branches, its leaves burning in oranges and reds against a luminous turquoise sky. The architecture dissolves into stacked planes of blue, yellow, and gold, while an ornate blue cornice anchors the base and a flash of vermilion pulls the eye upward. Quick, layered strokes make the whole scene shimmer, capturing the fleeting moment when city and season seem to merge into a single burst of color.
