Having observed the obsolete telegraph poles along Canada’s rail lines, I return the emblematic cedar poles to the time and landscape from which they were harvested. My painting enacts a metaphoric reforesting of famous Group of Seven landscapes that were created a century ago, with telegraph poles sent out to pasture from our current vantage point in history.
