Believe it or not, this painting represents the Industrial Revolution. In Bethlehem Pennsylvania, there are the ruins of Bethlehem Steel. Today, it's called The Stacks. There is a catwalk that sinews through the site so you can see what's on the ground even though you are at eye level of the upper stories and structures. I became overwhelmed as I thought of all the workers there, the thousand of hours they contributed and the thousands of tons produced. That steel is in the Empire State Building and some war ships that served in World War II. And now, it's all rusting. Even so, there are strong shapes. I interpreted one of the towers in this painting.
