I wanted the bold, expressive paint movement to capture the raw energy of nature when the expressive ocean meets the night sky.

This textured painting was created with contrasts in mind: the sense of calm of the moon set against the turbulent ocean, and the orange glow of the moon enveloped in the dark blues and deep greens that surround it. I love how the oversized, abstract moon carves its glow into the dark blue night sky with wisps of clouds, creating a magical feel.

I wanted to paint the frantic motion of the stormy sea, which I feel evokes a sense of powerful, beautiful chaos.

The sides are painted in a wrap-around effect, as I feel this finishes the work and makes it ready for immediate display. This work will also come wired for your convenience. The painting is signed on the front and is numbered on the back. The work will come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
