My inspiration came from noticing worn pedestrian pathway signs, each figure similar but uniquely weathered. Although spray-painted with stencils, time and weather had rendered each figure unique. I hand-carve these figures from acrylic panels and use them as irregularly shaped canvases to explore abstract expressions and ideas of diversity, inclusion, and communication.
