“When the Frost Fights Back” looked restrained at first glance, but the longer you stood near it, the clearer it became that this painting had boundaries and intended to defend them. Elegant from afar. Slightly dangerous up close. It carried the quiet authority of a winter storm that doesn’t need to raise its voice to shut everything down. During install, nobody dared place anything too visually loud beside it for fear the painting would simply overpower the entire wall through sheer atmospheric intimidation.
