Where Does the Time Go?

I visited the ruins of Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. The ruins are now called The Stacks.

It's possible to walk around in some areas including taking the catwalk that sinews through the ruins so you can look down on them.

It's a sad symphony of rust. I think of all the workers and all their hours and all the tons of steel that went into The Empire State Building and some ships that served in World War II. It felt as if all the time spent was lost as well as the boom time in American Industry.

It seemed that this soiled wall with weeds all around exemplified that. I've always imagined this arrow was to indicate where delivery trucks should go.
