helloart provides a platform for artists across Canada to showcase their work through commercial and residential properties in various communities. We work with property owners and managers to elevate the ambiance of their spaces, enhance their tenants’ experience, and support their community through our art rotation program.
As an Exhibition Manager, you’ll bring this program to life! You’ll work with our curators to present breathtaking art exhibits with precision and care in remarkable spaces within your community. From the transportation of artwork to the installation, and then storage, we’re here to complement your exceptional care, and time-management with the tools, materials and software to stay organized. The excitement, pride and knowledge you bring are vital in your customer and tenant engagement, and a representation of your brand and the helloart team.
Job Requirements:
- has a valid driver's license and maintains a clean driving record.
- will pass a complete background check.
- is proficient with hand tools, power tools and related hardware and materials.
- has art handling experience in a museum, gallery, artist studio, private collection, or similar environment.
- has at least a high school diploma. A degree in studio art, museum studies or related fields is a plus.
- can lift 50 lbs.
- has exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
As an Exhibition Manager, you’ll adapt to each installation’s specific requirements, and devise a clear strategy to ensure a clean and safe environment for the public, the space, the artwork, and yourself!
- Inspecting artwork before handling to ensure proper handling and demonstrate care when handling objects of various media
- An awareness and understanding of mounts, supports and structures related to artworks and sculptures.
- Carrying out all work required in lifting, transporting, and installing artwork.
- Adapting to conditions and making adjustments when necessary.
- Understanding and executing art handling fundamentals and best practices.
- Documentation of completed installation
- Carefully and securely pack or wrap artworks of various media, with an understanding of the techniques and materials required for each.
- Safely loading, unloading and storing artworks of various media (along with materials provided) in and out of your personal and/or company vehicle, as well as our storage facility.
- Install and uninstall artwork according to helloart standards and timelines.
- Maintain the provided toolkit with the materials and tools necessary to complete your work.
- Maintain helloart’s high expectations for customer service.
- Communicate with team members and stakeholders to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Understanding and use of both paper and electronic forms, proprietary and operational software.
- Adhering to proprietary agreements: confidentiality, non-disclosure, privacy, security, non-solicitation, and other employment provisions, as required to maintain the utmost security.
