46x36"

"Booktropolis 2" is a testament to Christian's growth and dedication as an artist. This large, meticulously crafted piece, measuring 36 inches tall and 45 3/4 inches wide, builds on the foundation of the original "Booktropolis" with enhanced precision and detail. The sketching phase alone took several weeks, with Christian painstakingly ensuring the accuracy of each vanishing point.

The creation process involved layers of paint, careful application of painter's tape, and more paint, spanning a total of four months while Christian simultaneously tackled other projects. This artwork reflects his admiration for architecture and multidimensional compositions, embodying the belief that anything is possible with determination and effort.

To ensure off-canvas vanishing points were accurate, Christian ingeniously drilled a large plank behind the canvas and inserted large screws to hold the ruler in place. He used navy tones of red, blue, and yellow for the "books," Titan Buff for surfaces facing the right, and a homemade off-white for surfaces facing the sky. The graphite gray sky adds a sense of heaviness and intensity, making the cityscape stand out prominently.

"Booktropolis 2" has been compared to the film "Inception" by art fair attendees, highlighting its intricate, dream-like quality. This labor of love is one of Christian’s most cherished creations, showcasing his technical skill and creative vision. Note: Frame is not included.
