ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My paintings are playful, spirited, freeform, and deceptively complex. My work explores and interprets the world through a contemporary lens. Often drawing from the ethereal sounds of nature, including the haunting melodies of whales, I translate auditory sensations into vibrant visual masterpieces.
My technique incorporates a combination of both traditional and experimental methods. While I may start with a base layer using brushes, as the artwork progresses, I might transition to palette knives, sponges, or even my fingers to add depth, texture, and layers to the piece. Incorporating diverse media allows for a richer visual experience. They lend different textures and tones to the artwork, adding layers of depth and detail that invite the viewer to look closer, to delve deeper. This unique approach captures not just color and form, but the very pulse and rhythm of the natural world.
