Bureaucracies often title themselves in slightly awkward ways.
Joe Atikian is a Toronto photographer and painter. He shoots art, architectural, and natural photos, combining them with his own organic and technical abstract paintings. He builds 3D artworks that resemble constructivist sculpture, as well as composite mutli-media glass works. Joe's work has been exhibited in Canada and the US. Joe has a background in industrial design, engineering, economics, and philosophy, and he is a published author.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
This photo series focuses on the intersection of wine and spirit in multi-layered historically-tinged collages that pose sharp new questions to long held societal belief systems.
Joe builds these images with computer-based design techniques, and combines them with visual concepts from science and philosophy to critique the delusional elements of modern life.
