Maureen Bradshaw lives in Toronto, Ontario and loves deep water, animals and kayaking in the wilds of Ontario. She spent over a decade as a Toronto creative director in the graphic design business and additional training in fashion illustration at OCAD University.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Maureen has a bias for vibrant colour — she paints with a wild spontaneity that defines the natural world in organic shapes and negative space. With animals and landscapes as her subjects, she shows nature as the sanctuary it is and refreshes the viewer with her undone style.
Maureen's work is primarily oil on canvas. She begins with lively brush strokes in acrylic, outlines the subject in a colourful oil stick or marker, and completes the work with washes of oil paint.
