I spotted this tree in a field trip at Mono Cliffs, Orangeville, Ontario. It stands high and overlooks the woods, like a monster patrol. When I was drawing it, its gaze touch deep down into my soul. It confronts whoever encounters it.

Mark making of the Chinese character “love” contrasting the color field background. Love is a complex feeling. It swifts into your life like wind, fun like the Polka Dot or sharp as a sword. It may brighten up your life or drag you down.

I dropped small puddles acrylic paint onto the canvas and pushed them in swift motion with a palette knife. Imagined that I squinted my eyes to look at the landmass from high altitude. I see land, mountains, streams, green fields and human beings is too tiny to be seen.

I accepted The Wings as my symbol and explore what it’s meaning for my life adventure. As I am working through the cognitive and painting process, I encounter the spirits of hope. Confidence and passion replace the misery and hopelessness. My work of art depicts light pushing through darkness and nature confronting the human beings.
