Ieesha Abdur-Rahman is a self-taught visual artist and designer. Since launching her freelance career in 2015, she has focused on pop art acrylic paintings that celebrate the vibrancy of African American culture. Notably, she led the creation of the first Black History Month mural at the California Institute of the Arts and collaborated with Nationwide for the "Grit & Grace" series, illustrating powerful stories of social justice. Ieesha's work draws heavy inspiration from music, often conceptualizing art based on lyrics.
Her more abstract portrait illustrations are known for their intricate line work and thoughtful detailing, creating a sense of movement and depth that pulls viewers into the subject. The precision and fluidity in her line art evoke an emotional response, offering a unique and introspective view of the human form. As a Black female creative, her goal is to uplift and inspire others while staying true to her identity. She hopes her art creates a positive and impactful experience for all viewers.
