Ron Gravel
I am a retired marketer now focusing on visual arts out of Montreal, Quebec. As a self-taught artist, I first painted sporadically for 35 years using primarily watercolors as a medium. I switched to acrylics in 2007 and started to paint fulltime.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
With my art, I want to depict power, beauty and movement using primarily the human form as a platform for expression. I paint images that leave a strong impression on my mind, sometimes long after I have seen them for the first time. My approach favours a certain deconstruction of the image and, at times, the depiction of multiple layers of meaning to create an aura of mystery.
