One crisp morning, as I looked out from my studio on the Mountain in Montréal, autumn had quietly taken hold. The air felt different — sharper, more alive — and the landscape was in motion. The leaves were turning rapidly, yet their brilliance still pulsed through the changing light. I sat down, compelled to capture that fleeting beauty before it slipped away.

Through layered strokes and warm tonal contrasts, I interpreted the rolling hills as they seemed to breathe under a soft fall haze — a rhythm of golds, russets, and muted greens, all bound by a quiet sense of inevitability. It’s a painting about transition — that delicate pause between abundance and rest. I work with knives. With this scene, I went with brushes.
