"Crowns of Moonlit Skin" celebrates the unique crowns we, as people of color, wear, showcasing our beauty regardless of our origins. It emphasizes our shared connections while honoring our individuality, with each crown representing our personal narratives which is depicted through diverse hairstyles and garments that we wear on our heads. The term "moonlit skin" is inspired by a favorite quote from the film Moonlight: "In moonlight, black boys look blue."'The newspaper background features various articles from the African diaspora and Black America, highlighting different stories throughout history.
