Fall Whimsy was first exhibited in 2016, part of a series where I explored the rhythm of the seasons through playful interpretation. The elongated format allows the forest to unfold almost musically across the surface — a dance of verticals and flickering light rendered in acrylic and mixed media. The textured surface invites the eye to move, to follow the subtle irregularities that bring life to the piece.

There’s a naïve, spontaneous joy in its making — an instinctive response to nature’s choreography rather than a studied depiction. I see it as a reminder to pause and rediscover the quiet optimism within the everyday — that moment when colour, texture, and memory align in perfect ease.
