Clean lines, a simple colour palette, and just a bit of jazz. Simple pieces that you could design a whole room around. That's what I was craving when I created the October series, and I absolutely feel that I accomplished it! I hope you love these new abstract works as much as I do.
ctober 1 is 10x10" on cradled birch panel with a depth of 7/8". It is matte acrylic paint, embellished with composition gold leaf (a blend of zinc and copper that shines like the real thing), and signed on the right edge of the piece in gold paint pen.
Kristin Fardy is a queer, genderqueer woman artist who paints from her home studio in downtown Ottawa, Ontario. She is a self-taught acrylic painter whose work is collected across Canada and internationally.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I love creating art, but my favourite thing to make is to make the viewer smile, laugh, or experience a sense of surprise. Whether it’s a film character playing a musical instrument, or The Rock coming for your cake pop, I love bringing something unexpected to every piece I create.
