Shadow Boxing

Acrylic, foil and resin on wood.

38x38x2"

Cobalt blue and deep indigo curl through Shadow Boxing, threaded with violet, burgundy and fine white patterns. A fractured expanse of silver and gold spreads across the lower composition and climbs the right side, partially obscuring the darker colour beneath. Narrow openings reveal glimpses of depth within the bright, densely textured surface.

The title suggests an encounter with something elusive. Dark contours appear, dissolve and re-emerge, resisting a fixed outline. Against the sharp definition of the metallic passages, these shifting forms create a sense of pursuit, drawing attention to what remains partially concealed.
