The Story Tellers

Through realistic representation I uncover the everyday corners of the interior landscapes of home from a playful viewpoint. These children storybooks were in my house since I was a little. The interesting characters on the covers and spines of the books made painting them a necessity and a joy. I was always haunted by the inside covers with their dark drawings; so I wanted to work that into the background. With my painting ‘The Story Tellers’, we see a bookshelf in a room with the characters inviting the child to go on an adventure with them.
