Exhibition History: Institutio Bienal Amazonia, 'Dialogues for the Planet' exhibition, Museu Naval Rio de Janeiro, Brazil'24-'25. Amazon Rain captures the rainforest transformed by water, atmosphere, and light. Layers of blue, turquoise, and deep green create the sensation of rain moving through dense vegetation, while the forest and its reflections seem to dissolve into one continuous, shifting surface. Loose, expressive brushwork gives the painting a strong sense of movement. Flecks of green, yellow, red, and soft violet emerge unexpectedly through the predominantly cool palette, suggesting fragments of foliage and life glimpsed through rainfall. The distinction between trees, water, mist, and reflection is intentionally blurred, creating an immersive landscape that feels both tranquil and alive. Rather than depicting a particular location, Amazon Rain evokes the sensory experience of the rainforest during rainfall—the changing light, saturated color, and almost endless presence of water.
