This painting is part of a small series I created during my earlier abstract period, inspired by a trip to the Caribbean. Spending time in the ocean, I was struck by the colours and beauty beneath the surface and the way sunlight sparkled across the water.

I wanted to capture that experience through abstraction, using layers of texture, colour and reflective materials rather than depicting the ocean literally. Created with mixed media, the painting has a heavily textured surface with gold and luminescent paint that catches the light. Its glossy finish adds a wet, reflective quality reminiscent of the ocean itself.

The shapes and textures suggest coral and underwater plant life, leaving room for viewers to find their own interpretations.
