It's in my heart
Like the veins that labor arduously to pump my blood
Like a flood of flowing abundance

It's in my head
I wear it like a skin
It will always be with me

When the moon descends only for the sun to rise again
And the sun sets giving way for the moon to glow once more
I know I have it

I waited for you my whole life
And here we are
Bitter sweetness, the dreams they said would never be

I have looked up to see your flag flying
I have been comforted by the wind that takes command of it
I know I have it

My land is green
Branches stretch forth, far and wide
My seeds fall to the ground

My soil is nourished
And all that I plant on it thrives in it
And Yes! I have it

We all do
For we are like branches that sprout from the same tree
The tree, firmly rooted on a land so green

Forest fires came and consumed our foliage
But the labor of those before us would not go in vain
The darkness was chased away forever and we rebuilt

Morning came
The flowers bloomed in the spring
Rain-washed away our tears

Our tears were like rivers flowing into banks
And we fed nations for generations
With plenty more to spare

We looked and all we saw was beauty
There is hope and joy, peace that will never cease
For our land is green
