Valerie Choo is a painter who graduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts from York University. Growing up in a Christian household with immigrant parents, she attended a variety of different classes from math to swimming to art and eventually discovered her love of art. Whether it be building little sculptures, experimenting with photography or painting, Valerie found great joy in creating new things. She is continually inspired by her travels and environment to create.
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Greatly influenced by her religious upbringing and fascination for landscapes and animals, Valerie's work primarily depicts realist-impressionist imagery inspired by her adventures and love of nature in all its beauty. Through her work, she hopes to evoke the feelings of joy and wonder within the viewer as they view and experience the work. Valerie's greatest desire is to reflect on the mastery of God’s craftsmanship through the process of creating her paintings and other works.
